Evaluation of Efficiency of Brazilian Airlines using the MCDEA-TRIMAP Model
نویسندگان
چکیده
The deregulation of the domestic airline industry brought a significant increase in competition between airlines, pushing them to continuously update their strategies. This article reviews the operating performance of these companies, from the contrast in the results of the DEA classic model and MCDEATRIMAP efficiency indicators. The use of such methodology allows the increase of discriminatory power of the productive units evaluated and a better evaluation of them. The application of the DEA model to the data from the Brazilian Airline industry for the year 2008 indicated three companies as efficient, while the use of MCDEA TRIMAP index allowed the identification of the most efficient company in 2008. The index provided better discrimination of the production units in the study.

We define a combined DEA score to evaluate efficiency in agricultural research. The production model we propose considers efficiency measurements under variable returns to scale for each year in the period 2012–2017. We postulate a first-order autoregressive process in the presence of covariates, to explain efficiency. Powers of the autocorrelation coefficient estimated assuming a dynamic panel...

In each time period, the demand of passengers for each route are finite and airlines compete for earning more profits. The complex competition among airlines causes problems, such as complicating flight planning and increasing empty seats for some routes. These problems increase air pollution and fuel consumption. To solve these problems, this research studies the cooperation of the airlines wi...
